A Successful First Time at the Handmade Market in Rotterdam

On 21 December 2025, at the end of a very special year, I had the joy of taking part in a handmade market for the first time – and it became an unforgettable and successful experience.

The market was organized by the Ukrainian House in Rotterdam, a cultural platform that connects people through art, creativity, and community. Their warm support and professional organization created the perfect environment for both makers and visitors.

The atmosphere was welcoming and festive, filled with handmade art, inspiring conversations, and the magic of Christmas just before the holidays.

First Market, Big Emotions

As a first-time participant, I felt both excited and a little nervous. Preparing handmade items, setting up the table, and meeting visitors face to face was completely new for me. From the very beginning, the response was incredibly positive. People showed genuine interest in the craftsmanship and appreciated the uniqueness of each piece.

Popular Christmas Favorites

Some items quickly became favorites. The snowflake and star decorations were especially popular, as many visitors were looking for meaningful and handmade Christmas decorations. These pieces were often chosen as gifts, adding a warm and personal touch to the holidays.

Another bestseller was the wish horse key hangers. These symbolic pieces attracted a lot of attention. Many visitors loved the idea of carrying a wish with them every day, making them both decorative and meaningful.

More Than Just Sales

This market was about much more than selling. It was about connection, storytelling, and creativity. Conversations with visitors, fellow makers, and organizers made the experience inspiring and memorable.

A Great Start and Motivation for the Future

This first market gave me confidence and motivation to continue creating and sharing handmade work. It was a beautiful way to end 2025 and a promising beginning for future events.
